      About Place: 
      Red Hills located 28 km from Ooty and about 310 kms from Bangalore is great place to explore unexplored parts of Nilgiris. Red hill area has few amazing lakes called Emerald/Avalanche/Parson's Valley and Porthimund including 3 other lakes.   

      It is here that the forests are magnificent and vast, the foliage is dense and the air, crisp and pure. Lush, eye-soothing greenery covers whole area right into the horizon. Best of all, Red Hills offers a permanent guarantee of natural beauty since no further development is possible under the law in the ecologically fragile area of the sensitive Upper Bhavani Sanctuary nearby.  

      Surrounded by seven lakes and the majestic Nilgiris (or the blue mountains), it's a sight for sore eyes. Add to it, miles and miles of verdant tea estates. Typical mountain flowers all around in such different hues.  


       



     

Route:  Bangalore-Mysore- Bandipur-Madhumalai-Masinagudi-Ooty-Red Hills 

Difficulty: Moderate to difficult. 

Distance: 10-12Kms approx. (one way)

      Tentative Schedule: 
      1st Feb 2008 09.30 PM  Meet up at "Symphony Theater - MG Road, Bangalore"
      10.00 PM  Start from Bangalore. 
      2nd Feb2008 06.30 AM  Reach Base camp
      07.30 AM  Finish Break Fast
                    Start Trek to Red Hill  
      3rd Feb 2008 5:30 AM   Reach Bangalore  

Participation Fees: Rs. 995.00
Above charges include: Transports, Accommodation/Tent, Break fast, lunch, dinner ,Guide, Forest Charges, First aid etc..
Above charges does not include: Break fast, lunch, dinner, on the way and Sleeping bag etc.
You need to arrange your own sleeping bag or contact Mayuresh if you want it on rent from BMC.
