Trek to Kuringal Gudda [10th-11th May 2008]

 *Capacity: 17 Participants only*
*Note: Kindly call/email us for any clarification only after reading thru
all details.* PS: BMC is dependent on the travel agency to send the vehicle
on time and BMC doesn't have vehicles of it's own. Hence there might be some
delay in the arrival of vehicle at the pick-up point. We request you to
please cooperate.

About* Kudremukh National Park (KNP)

KNP is made of steep hills and valleys. The hills, which bear the brunt of
the severe monsoon wind, preclude any tree growth as a result the landscape
is covered with grass. The valleys which are tucked in, have reasonable
protection from wind and a deep soil profile, as a result of which stunted
evergreen forests exist creating an unique microclimate, rich with mosses,
orchids, etc. The whole scenery of grassland interspersed with narrow strips
of forests provide a fantastic vista for a trekker. The totally fresh air
and the climb up and down, invigorates the body and soothes the soul. During
the trek, one can view and study several wildlife species of plants, birds,
reptiles, amphibians, butterflies, insects, etc.





*Trekking routes*

Starting point is the Bhagavathi Nature Camp - Watch Tower - Kuringal Gudda
-  back to Bhagavathi Nature Camp.


*Difficulty:* Moderate.

*Distance: *14 Kms approx. (Both ways)

* Things to carry:*
 *Iodex spray (Leech repellent)*
 Energy food (ie. Chocolates, Flavored Curd, Fruits etc)
 Energy Drink (ie. Flavored milk, Fruit juice etc)
 Cap, sun glasses, rain coat, water bottle,

 Shoes: With minimum grips/studs. preferably canvas or soft sole shoes if
not rock climbing shoes.

Symphony Theater, MG Road, Bangalore  *10th May 2008* 08:00  AM
Breakfast
09:00  AM     Reach Kudremukha finish the National Park formalities
10:00  AM     Visit Hanuman Gundi falls
01:00  AM     Reach Bhagavathi Nature Camp (Base camp)
02:00  AM     lunch
08:00  AM     Dinner and stay at a Bhagavathi Nature Camp (Base camp)  *11th
May 2008* 07:00  AM     Start trek towards Kuringal Gudda (14 Kms both ways)
12:00  PM     Lunch and start back towards Base camp
02.00  PM     Reach  Base camp
03:00  PM     Head back to Bangalore  *Participation Fees: Rs. 1500.00*
Above charges include: Forest dept charges, Accommodation in Bhagavathi
Nature Camp, Transport, Food (2- bfast, 2-lunch, 1- dinner), first aid kit,
safety gears, Forest guide charges and miscellaneous.
Above charges does not include: Food on the way
